A young woman has her face covered with cream to help fight the measles in the village of Manamkoh on April 18, 2012 where the community alleges that their rice fields have been flooded because of mining operations by London Mining nearby. This community depends on their crop of rice to sustain them, and provide income. Their rice fields have always been along the edge of this lake, but water levels have risen, despite the fact that the seasonal rains have not yet arrived, and have ruined the bulk of their crops. Now young villagers wade in the water, looking for fish and snails in the water that had been full of planted rice.(Photo by Peter Power/The Globe and Mail)
